Strength Coaching
Get stronger. Feel more capable. See what your body can actually do.
Strength training isn't just for people who've been lifting for years, competitive athletes, or the scary-looking people in the weights area.
It's for anyone who wants to be stronger than they are now.
Maybe you've never really lifted before and have absolutely no idea where to start.
Maybe you're already training but you're sick of the decision fatigue, changing things every five minutes and second-guessing yourself. You just need someone to point you in the right direction.
Maybe you've hit your 40s or 50s and realised that being strong is going to matter more and more as you get older.
Or maybe you've seen someone pick up a stupidly heavy object and thought, I wonder if I could do that?
I can help you find out.
Strength training that fits you
I help people get stronger, whatever that looks like for you.
You don't need to already be fit.
You don't need to know your way around a gym.
And you definitely don't need to have ambitions of becoming a competitive lifter.
We'll start with where you are now, work out what you'd like to be able to do, and build your training around you.
That might mean learning the basic lifts and feeling confident walking into the weights area on your own.
It might mean getting your first proper deadlift, building muscle, improving your squat or finally getting stronger at something you've been stuck on.
It might mean training to keep your body strong and useful as you get older.
And if, somewhere along the way, you decide you'd quite like to pick up a sandbag, carry something unnecessarily heavy or have a go at strongwoman?
I'm probably not going to talk you out of it.
How coaching works
We start with you
We'll talk about where you are now, your training experience, what you enjoy, what you hate, what you'd like to achieve and how training actually fits into your life.
Because the perfect programme is completely useless if it doesn't work for the person who's supposed to be doing it.
We make a plan
I'll create your training around your goals, ability, available equipment and the amount of time you realistically have.
No random workouts for the sake of making you tired.
We're training with a purpose, progressing things over time and getting you stronger.
We adapt
Life happens.
Training doesn't always go to plan. Bodies get tired, schedules change, equipment isn't available and sometimes something that looked great on paper just doesn't work for you.
Coaching means we can adjust when we need to rather than treating the programme as something carved into stone.
Who is it for?
If you want to get stronger, probably you.
You might be completely new to strength training and want someone to show you where to begin.
You might already lift but want more structure and progression.
You might want to build strength and muscle now to help keep you strong, independent and capable as you get older.
You might have a specific strength goal you'd love to achieve.
Or you might just have a sneaking suspicion that you'd really enjoy being stronger.
You don't have to fit a particular mould to belong in the weights room.
My approach
I'm interested in what your body can do.
Yes, training can change how you look. But there's something incredibly satisfying about discovering that something which once felt impossibly heavy… doesn't anymore.
Strength builds gradually.
One extra rep. A little more weight. A movement that suddenly clicks. The first time you pick something up that you genuinely weren't sure you could.
Those little wins add up.
And you don't have to turn your entire life upside down to get them.
No punishment for missed sessions. No earning your food. No expectation that the gym becomes your entire personality.
Just a plan that makes sense, someone to point you in the right direction, and maybe the odd opportunity to discover that you can carry something stupidly heavy.
Want to get stronger?
You don't need to know exactly what your goal is before getting in touch.
Tell me a little about where you are now, what you've been doing and what you'd like to change.
We'll work out where to go from there.
